Actually when I recently visited with my friends from California Olive Ranch, they gave me that book to read! I am proud of how invested they are in making great olive oil available to us state-side. I still need to read it, sounds like you recommend it?

I recently read the book Extra Virgin and it blew my mind – I’d been kind of aware how corrupted the olive oil industry is (and has been since antiquity) but I had no idea the depth of it. Now I shop more mindfully and choose oils carefully based on what I’ll be cooking or eating.

Thanks for the post. I would love to attend an olive oil tasting. As much as I love it, I really know so little about it.

Can’t wait to try the recipe… I’ve been craving an olive oil cake and wasn’t sure where to begin!
