Sher: I hear you, I rarely bake crackers...

Ann: Yes, love that element of surprise!

Brandon: Let me know if the recipe turns out and/or if you tweak it.

Claire: I noticed two different prices on them at Whole Foods (based on flavor?), but concur they are expensive.

I'm eating one right now. I bought mine at Central Market in the DFW area of Texas. They are wonderful, but expensive. I was wondering if anyone has found them cheaper any where? Thank you

I only recently discovered these in a bodega near my new apartment. I grabbed them on a whim, thinking they'd be nice with cheese, and was shocked (shocked!) when I tasted my first one and it was SWEET! I never really think of olive oil being showcased in a sweet. Since then though, I'm in love, I adore them. The ones we get are a different brand, that, according to their site is of course the original ;-)

This looks so good. I love making crackers and wafers. Why don't I do it more often? Well---I would eat all of them, that's why. Wouldn't share with others. I'm bad.

Lydia: I agree, the anise seeds make it. The store ones seem to have a different glaze, too.

Aria: They are fun!

Karen: I LOVE it when people are 'happily surprised.'

I enjoy these, too. People are happily surprised to try them when I put them out with appetizers.

I haven't seen the recipe in Martha's book, but thanks for pointing it out - looks great.

I've been seeing these wafers for a few years, first in cheese shops and now at Whole Foods, but I've never attempted to make them. I think the anise seeds are the real treat here. I've also seen these with a rosemary flavor, I believe. Thanks for the recipe.
