Julie: So happy to hear from you, and so glad we have found each other!

True, I love finding standby recipes that I will use again and again. Recipes my family loves, that fill in the blank when I ask what is for dinner. But the truth is, even better is cooking a NEW recipe. And another NEW recipe, and another. So when you talk about paging through 100 cookbooks---and in honor of your stepmother---all I can say is hats off/good job/a big bow to you. I think that is awesome. I look forward to reading about all your new recipes!

Amazing. I'm just learning how to cook, but I have 100 cookbooks left to me by my beloved Step-mother Barbara (who decidedly could cook) that I have been intending to blog about. I want to go through them one by one and try a recipe, learning and honoring her as I go.
You're much further along on the path than I am. But you're inspiring me along. Your blog is now officially daily reading.
Thank you!

You are biased, but thank you. I had a great time writing it; I have been thinking about these ideas for some time...

Happy Chef hunting!
